TCL S65K 5.1ch True Surround Soundbar with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Wireless Subwoofer & Rear Speakers – Price in Kenya

Upgrade your TV, movies, music and gaming setup with the TCL S65K 5.1ch True Surround Soundbar, a full home-theatre sound system designed for customers who want more than the basic 2.0 or 2.1 soundbar experience. The S65K combines a main soundbar, wireless subwoofer and dedicated surround speakers to create a genuine 5.1-channel physical surround setup, giving you a wider and more immersive soundstage for movies, TV shows, sports and gaming. TCL lists the S65K with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, AI Sonic-Adaptation, RAY·DANZ technology, HDMI eARC, optical, USB and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

TCL S65K Soundbar – What You Actually Get

Unlike entry-level soundbars that rely almost entirely on virtual surround processing, the TCL S65K includes dedicated rear surround speakers. This is one of its biggest advantages. The rear speakers help place sound around you instead of simply making the front soundbar sound wider. For action movies, football, gaming and other content with directional sound effects, this can create a much more convincing surround experience when the speakers are positioned correctly.

The system uses 5.1 physical surround channels and seven drivers across the system. TCL also incorporates its RAY·DANZ surround technology, designed to create a wider sound field, while an upmixing algorithm can expand compatible stereo or other content across the surround system.

Dolby Atmos & DTS:X

The TCL S65K supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, making it suitable for compatible movies, TV shows and games that contain immersive audio tracks. However, here is the honest part: Dolby Atmos support does not mean every piece of content will suddenly sound like a cinema. You need compatible Atmos/DTS:X content and the right connection and settings to experience the full effect. The physical rear speakers are also important because they contribute significantly to the overall surround experience.

Powerful Bass with Wireless Subwoofer

The dedicated wireless subwoofer adds the low-frequency impact that a TV's built-in speakers simply cannot reproduce properly. Explosions, action scenes, music basslines and gaming sound effects get substantially more weight and depth.

The subwoofer uses TCL's Bass Wave Guide Technology, designed to distribute low-frequency sound more evenly around the room. The wireless design also reduces cable clutter because you don't need a traditional audio cable running from the soundbar to the subwoofer.

Clearer Dialogue

The S65K includes a dedicated centre-channel architecture with a tweeter, designed to improve vocal and dialogue clarity. This is particularly useful for movies, Netflix, YouTube and TV programmes where voices can sometimes get buried underneath background music and effects. TCL also provides dialogue enhancement features for users who want additional emphasis on speech.

8 Sound Modes

The TCL S65K provides multiple sound modes including Standard, Movie, Music, Sports, News, Gaming, Night and Custom. These allow you to adjust the sound depending on what you are watching or listening to. TCL notes that access to all eight modes requires the TCL Home App.

AI Sonic-Adaptation / Room Calibration

Another useful feature is AI Sonic-Adaptation. Through the TCL Home App, the soundbar can analyse the acoustic characteristics of your room and optimise the sound according to the room layout and listening position. This can be particularly useful because a sound system can behave very differently in a small bedroom, open-plan living room or larger entertainment room.

Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI eARC, Optical & USB

Connectivity is another strong point. The TCL S65K supports Bluetooth 5.3, allowing you to stream music wirelessly from compatible smartphones, tablets and other devices. It also provides HDMI eARC, optical and USB connectivity, making it suitable for TVs, gaming consoles and other entertainment equipment.

For a modern TV setup, HDMI eARC is the connection to prioritise where your TV supports it, especially when you want to take advantage of higher-quality audio formats and easier control through HDMI.

Great for PS5, Xbox & Gaming

The S65K is also suitable for gaming setups. Connect your PS5, Xbox or other gaming console through a compatible TV/home-theatre setup and the dedicated surround speakers can make directional effects, explosions, environmental sounds and dialogue much more immersive.

The dedicated Gaming sound mode is another useful option for gamers looking for a more suitable audio profile.

TCL S65K Design

The soundbar features TCL's modern floating-style design with an all-metal unibody appearance. The main soundbar measures approximately 850 × 64 × 90 mm, while the subwoofer measures approximately 220 × 290 × 330 mm. The rear satellite speakers are compact enough to position around the listening area without dominating the room.

The soundbar can be wall-mounted or placed on a stand, giving you flexibility when setting up your entertainment area.

Brutally Honest: Is the TCL S65K Worth Considering?

If you are specifically looking for a basic soundbar to make your TV louder, the S65K is more system than you probably need.

But if you want a proper multi-speaker home-theatre setup without moving into much more expensive premium systems, the S65K makes considerably more sense. Its biggest advantage is not simply the Dolby Atmos badge; it is the combination of a dedicated soundbar, wireless subwoofer and physical rear surround speakers.

Also be realistic about Atmos. Do not buy it expecting ceiling-mounted cinema speakers or a premium high-end home theatre system. Atmos performance depends heavily on the room, speaker positioning, source material and TV/connection setup. TCL itself notes that full Dolby Atmos/DTS:X effects require compatible audio sources.

The S65K is therefore best suited to someone who wants stronger TV audio, real surround speakers, deeper bass, clearer dialogue and a more immersive movie/gaming experience without assembling a traditional AV receiver and multiple passive speakers.
